    Language Arts
     
    Main Reading and Writing Learning Standards for the forth Six Weeks:
    Students are expected to read with comprehension  and fluency at > text level 2
    Students are expected to recognize words with VC, CVC pattern.
    Students are expected to listen to and recite a variety of poems and respond by identifying a regular beat.
    Students are expected to read at least 20 high frequency words designated for kindergarteners.
    Students are expected to identify and study in depth at least 10-12 vocabulary words selected from authentic text or environmental print.
    Students are expected to spell new words by changing the beginning or final sound of familiar words.
    Students are expected to self select ideas for writing based on personal knowledge and experiences
    Students are expected to draw a picture and write a caption about a class or personal experience.
    Students are expected to re-read to check for missing or extra word (Does it sound right?).
    Student are expected to routinely proofread for one to one match between intended words and written words.
    Student are expected to write using appropriate spacing within and between words.

    Count by ones to 80
    Compose Numbers to 10 and decompose numbers to 10
    Modeling addition as joining sums up to 5
    Addition word problems; Modeling subtraction as separating
    Differences within 5
    Subtraction word problems and sums up to 7

    Main Science Learning Standards for the Forth Six Weeks:
    Observe, describe weather changes (day to day and season to season)
    Identify events with repeating patterns (seasons and day and night)
    Identify, describe and illustrate objects in the sky (clouds, Moon, stars, sun)

    Main Social Studies Learning Standards for the Fourth Six Weeks:
    Compare family customs and traditions
    Identify similarities and differences among people such as kinship, laws, and religion, music, clothing and food.
    Identify how the human characteristics of place such as ways of earning a living, shelter, clothing, food, and   activities  are based upon geographic location
